Naseeb Privacy Policy
Operated by BEL Investigations Inc.
British Columbia, Canada
Effective date: 19 September 2026
This Policy explains how BEL Investigations Inc. collects, uses, discloses, stores, protects and deletes personal information through Naseeb.
1. Who We Are and Scope
Naseeb is a marriage-focused matchmaking service operated by BEL Investigations Inc. (“BEL”, “Naseeb”, “we”, “us” or “our”), a corporation incorporated in British Columbia, Canada. This Privacy Policy applies to the Naseeb website at naseeb.love, the iOS and Android applications, the matching and verification services, communications with references and walis, Concierge interactions, and related services.
BEL is responsible for personal information under its control. Our designated privacy contact is: Privacy Officer, BEL Investigations Inc. (Naseeb), info@naseeb.love.
This Policy is intended to describe our practices under British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (“PIPA”) and other privacy laws that may apply. Users in other jurisdictions may have additional rights that cannot be limited by this Policy.
2. Our Privacy Principles
Naseeb handles information that can be sensitive, including identity documents, religious and marital information, photographs, financial and employment information, safety-screening information, and private communications. We aim to collect and use information for identified, reasonable purposes connected with operating a serious marriage service, protecting the community, preventing fraud, verifying identity, and complying with law.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use government-ID images, private chat messages, or profile photographs for behavioural advertising. Device and IP-related signals described below are used for service operation, security and fraud prevention, not behavioural advertising.
Some of the information described in this Policy is sensitive, including information revealing religious beliefs (e.g., madhhab), racial or ethnic origin, and criminal-history answers. By providing this information to Naseeb, you give your explicit, affirmative consent to our collection, use and disclosure of it for the purposes described in this Policy. You may withdraw this consent at any time as described in Section 13, subject to the effect withdrawal may have on our ability to provide the Service.
3. Personal Information We Collect
3.1 Account and contact information
- Email address, phone number and hashed password.
- Account, email and phone verification status.
- WhatsApp contact information where provided.
- Optional social-media platform type and handle.
- Subscription/payment status and Stripe checkout or transaction identifiers. Naseeb does not store raw payment-card numbers; Stripe or the applicable app-store payment provider handles card/payment credentials.
3.2 Application, identity and profile information
- Legal name and preferred/first name, gender and date of birth/age.
- Country, city, nationality and ethnicity.
- Marital status, children, willingness to relocate, polygyny-related information, and match preferences such as age and country.
- Profile descriptions and other written responses, including information about yourself, marriage goals, values and what you are seeking.
- Profile photograph and up to three gallery photographs.
- Physical, religious/madhhab-related, education, occupation, financial, lifestyle, personality, family, marriage-view and spouse-preference information submitted through the questionnaire.
- Consents and records of consent.
Last names are not displayed to proposed matches or other ordinary users. Authorized Naseeb personnel may access a full legal name where necessary for identity verification, fraud prevention, account administration or legal compliance.
3.3 Identity and verification information
For identity and safety verification, we may collect a government-issued identification image and, where requested, a selfie with the identification document. We may process OCR-derived identity signals and compare submitted information with profile photographs and other fraud-prevention signals. Human reviewers conduct the face/identity comparison; we do not represent that AWS performs the final face-match decision.
Verification may also involve user-supplied criminal-record checks, marital-status evidence, employment/company documents, and other supporting records. We may contact an employer or company where appropriate authorization has been provided.
Government-ID images, verification selfies, criminal-record documents, marital-status documents and employment-verification documents are deleted after the applicable verification is completed. For government ID and verification-selfie media, our operational target is deletion promptly after administrative verification and no later than two days after receipt, except where a short additional preservation period is required by law or reasonably necessary to investigate suspected fraud, security abuse or a dispute. We may retain a limited verification record, such as the type of verification, date, status/result and relevant audit information.
Biometric information. Where a user submits a verification selfie, Naseeb and its service providers may derive facial geometry or other biometric identifiers solely to compare the selfie against the submitted identification image for identity-verification purposes. We collect and use this biometric information only with the user’s affirmative consent, given at the time of upload. We do not sell, lease, trade or otherwise profit from biometric information, and we do not disclose it except to the service provider(s) performing the comparison described in this Policy or as required by law. Biometric identifiers are permanently destroyed on the same schedule described above for verification selfies, and in any event no later than three years after the individual’s last interaction with Naseeb, whichever occurs first.
3.4 Safety, criminal-history and internal assessment information
The questionnaire may ask users to provide criminal-history or safety-related answers. These answers are not displayed to proposed matches. They are used by authorized personnel for screening, safety, fraud review and matchmaking administration.
Naseeb may create internal risk, authenticity, safety or seriousness notes, compatibility scores and review records. These internal records are not shown to proposed matches. They support human review and administrative decisions and are not statements that a person has committed wrongdoing.
3.5 References
A user may provide a character reference’s name, phone number, email address and relationship to the user. Naseeb contacts the reference and allows the reference to submit information directly through Naseeb without ordinary user credentials. We collect the reference’s first name, contact information, relationship to the user and written description/reference.
The user and permitted proposed matches may see the reference’s first name, relationship and written reference. The reference’s surname, email address and phone number are not displayed to proposed matches. We retain reference contact information while the associated profile remains stored so that we may contact the reference for clarification or further information. We do not treat provision of a reference as consent to receive Naseeb marketing.
References should be informed before submission that their first name, relationship and written reference will appear as part of the referenced user’s profile.
3.6 Wali information
Where the wali feature applies, we may collect a wali’s name, relationship to the user, email address, phone number, verification/access information and related communications. Where a wali participates in a match, the wali may have access to the relevant matched profiles, photographs and private match chat as described in the Terms of Use.
3.7 Matching and communications
- Potential and proposed matches, compatibility scores, responses, acceptance/rejection status and matching-pool status.
- Private chat messages between matched users and, where applicable, a participating wali.
- Blocks, match-ending or pool-return information, and quit/cancellation reasons.
- Reports, complaints, screenshots or other evidence voluntarily submitted to Naseeb for safety or enforcement review.
BEL personnel do not routinely read private match chats under the current service design. Users may voluntarily submit chat content or screenshots when reporting misconduct. Authorized access may also occur where technically or legally necessary to secure the service, respond to a valid legal requirement, or investigate a specific safety/security incident in accordance with applicable law.
3.8 Device, IP and operational information
- IP address, including the IP used when an application is submitted.
- Approximate country derived from an IP address.
- Device model, brand/manufacturer, operating-system type and version, and whether the device is a phone or tablet.
- Advertising/device identifier where available, used for fraud and security purposes rather than behavioural advertising.
- Country/region, timezone and language settings.
- Push-notification device token where registered.
- Intake/import information such as spreadsheet identifiers, invite tokens and opt-in status.
For fraud prevention, we may compare approximate IP country, phone-number country, claimed location, identity information, device signals and other account information. A mismatch is a risk indicator and does not automatically establish fraud. Suspicious discrepancies may be referred for human review.
4. How We Collect Information
We collect information directly from users when they create an account, complete an application or questionnaire, upload verification material, communicate with a match or wali, contact us, purchase a service, or exercise account controls. We collect some technical information automatically from the device or connection used to access Naseeb.
We also collect information from references, participating walis, payment/service providers, and verification infrastructure as described in this Policy. For the initial launch, we may use contact information submitted through a public pre-registration form where the individual asked to receive an email about the Naseeb app.
5. Why We Use Personal Information
We may use personal information for the following purposes:
- Create, authenticate, administer and secure accounts.
- Verify identity, age and information supplied in an application.
- Detect impersonation, scams, duplicate accounts, fraudulent documents, location inconsistencies and other abuse.
- Operate the matching process, calculate compatibility, conduct human match review, present proposed matches and facilitate mutual introductions.
- Operate wali features and character-reference features.
- Provide private chat and service notifications.
- Provide and administer Basic, Verified and Concierge services.
- Process subscriptions and payments and maintain transaction/accounting records.
- Review criminal/safety answers and other permitted information for community safety and account eligibility.
- Investigate reports, complaints, fraud, security incidents and violations of our Terms or Community & Safety Guidelines.
- Respond to support requests, privacy requests and legal obligations.
- Improve service reliability, security, fraud controls and matching operations using information appropriate for those purposes.
- Send operational communications such as verification, match, security, account, billing and legal notices.
- Send marketing or promotional communications where we have an appropriate consent or other lawful basis, subject to the recipient’s right to unsubscribe.
6. Matching, AI and Human Decision-Making
Naseeb uses automated tools and human review in its matching and safety workflows. Live match generation currently uses Naseeb’s own heuristic scoring path. Human matchmakers review potential matches and may reject an algorithmically identified match. Compatibility scores do not guarantee compatibility or an introduction.
Where configured, OpenAI may be used for optional text or risk scoring. In that workflow, OpenAI may receive structured profile/questionnaire information, user-written profile text and derived profile risk signals. Naseeb does not send government-ID images, raw government documents, profile photographs or private chat messages to OpenAI.
Identity discrepancies, IP/location inconsistencies, device signals and other risk indicators support human review. Naseeb may reject an application or restrict/terminate an account following human review where unresolved identity, authenticity, fraud, safety or seriousness concerns remain. We do not describe such risk signals as automatic proof of wrongdoing.
7. Information Visible to Other People
7.1 Proposed matches
Naseeb does not provide general profile browsing. During the proposed-match process, a permitted subset of profile information may be shown, such as first name, age, city/country, description, selected physical/profile characteristics, marital information relevant to the match, and character-reference information described above. Last names are not displayed.
Profile photographs are not shown at the initial proposed-match stage and may become visible after mutual acceptance in accordance with the service workflow.
7.2 Walis
A participating wali may receive access to matched profiles, photographs and match chat where the wali feature applies.
7.3 Inactive or unpaid accounts
Cancelling a subscription does not delete an account. After paid access ends, the account and profile may remain stored. Unless the user selects a profile-hiding/stop-matching control, the profile may remain eligible for matching and permitted profile information may be presented to a paying proposed match. An unpaid user may receive notice that a match exists but must reactivate/pay to access applicable paid match features and accept the introduction.
A user who chooses Hide Profile or Stop Matching is removed from active matching while the account information is retained so the user can return later. Paid features, including chat access, are unavailable while the user is not paying.
8. Service Providers and International Processing
We use service providers that may receive, store or process personal information on our behalf to operate, secure and support Naseeb. Depending on the service and configuration, these providers include:
- Render, including database/application infrastructure currently hosted in Oregon, United States (US West).
- Amazon Web Services (AWS), including infrastructure used in the identity-document/OCR workflow.
- OpenAI, for optional profile-text/risk-scoring functions as described above.
- Stripe, for web payment processing. Stripe handles raw card information; Naseeb receives payment/subscription and transaction-related information needed to administer the account.
- Resend, for transactional and other permitted email delivery.
- Apple and Google, where their app distribution, in-app purchase, device, notification or platform services apply.
Personal information may therefore be processed or stored outside Canada, including in the United States. Information processed in another jurisdiction may be subject to that jurisdiction’s laws and may be accessible to courts, law-enforcement or national-security authorities in accordance with applicable law.
BEL remains responsible for personal information under its control and uses contractual, technical, organizational and due-diligence measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the information and the role of the service provider.
Cookies and Similar Technologies. The Naseeb website (naseeb.love) uses cookies and similar technologies, such as browser local storage, to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand website performance and security. We do not use cookies for behavioural advertising. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may prevent parts of the website from functioning.
9. Payments
Naseeb does not store raw payment-card numbers. Web card payments are handled by Stripe, and mobile purchases may be handled through Apple or Google as applicable. We may retain payment status, plan, transaction or checkout identifiers, dates, amounts and other records needed for subscription administration, accounting, fraud prevention, chargebacks and legal compliance.
10. Marketing Communications
Service messages and marketing messages are treated differently. Account, verification, match, security, billing, privacy and legal notices may be necessary to operate an account and are not treated as optional marketing merely because they are delivered electronically.
We may send a launch email to people who submitted their contact information through a pre-registration form for the purpose of receiving information about the Naseeb app. We may send later promotional messages, such as discounts or product announcements, where we have consent or another lawful basis to do so.
Commercial electronic messages will include the identification and unsubscribe information required by applicable law. A recipient may withdraw marketing consent or unsubscribe at any time. Unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent essential service communications associated with an active account.
You can disable push notifications at any time through your device’s notification settings.
11. Retention and Deletion
11.1 Active accounts
While an account remains stored, we retain profile and account information as reasonably necessary to operate the service. Private chat history is not automatically deleted while the relevant account retains the conversation.
11.2 Verification documents
Government-ID images, verification selfies and the underlying criminal-record, marital-status and employment-verification documents are deleted after verification as described in Section 3.3. Limited verification records may be retained.
11.3 Subscription cancellation and profile pause
Cancelling a subscription does not delete the account. Account information remains stored until the user requests deletion. Selecting Hide Profile or Stop Matching pauses active matching without deleting the stored profile.
11.4 Account deletion
When a user requests account deletion, Naseeb deletes the user’s account and information associated with that profile, including associated reference information, subject to the limited exceptions below. The user’s own access to chat history is removed.
Because communications involve more than one participant, deletion of one account does not necessarily erase messages already delivered to and retained in another participant’s account or, where applicable, a wali’s account. The remaining participant may retain their copy of the conversation while their account retains it.
11.5 Fraud-prevention and legal records
Where Naseeb determines after review that an account involved fraud, attempted fraud, identity deception or serious safety abuse, BEL may retain a limited suppression or enforcement record for as long as reasonably necessary to prevent re-registration, protect users and enforce platform restrictions, subject to applicable law and periodic review of necessity. We do not retain the underlying government-ID image merely to maintain a ban record.
BEL may also retain limited information where reasonably necessary or required for payment/accounting obligations, chargebacks, active disputes, complaints, security incidents, legal claims, law-enforcement preservation obligations or other legal requirements.
12. Security
We use administrative, technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we handle. Personal information is encrypted in transit using industry-standard transport encryption. Additional safeguards include access controls, restricted administrative permissions, authentication controls, password hashing, logging, fraud review, service-provider controls and deletion procedures.
No online service can guarantee absolute security. Users are responsible for protecting account credentials and should notify Naseeb promptly if they suspect unauthorized access.
If we become aware of a security incident that compromises personal information in a manner that creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected individuals and any applicable regulator as required by applicable law.
13. Your Privacy Choices and Rights
Subject to applicable law and permitted exceptions, you may ask to access personal information BEL holds about you, request correction of inaccurate information, withdraw consent where consent is the applicable basis and withdrawal is legally available, ask questions about our privacy practices, or request account deletion.
A withdrawal of consent may affect our ability to provide a feature or the service where the information is reasonably necessary for that purpose. We will explain material consequences where required.
You can also control matching visibility through the available Hide Profile/Stop Matching feature, cancel paid renewal separately from account deletion, and unsubscribe from optional marketing communications.
To exercise a privacy right or ask a privacy question, contact the Privacy Officer at info@naseeb.love. We may need to verify identity before fulfilling a request. Access rights may be subject to lawful exceptions, including information that would reveal another person’s personal information or confidential commercial information.
You may also delete your account directly within the Naseeb app through Settings > Account > Delete Account. In-app deletion requests are processed in accordance with Section 11.4 (Account Deletion) above.
14. Additional Rights for Users in the EEA, UK and Switzerland
If you access Naseeb from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the following applies. Our legal bases for processing include your consent, necessity to perform our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating a safe matchmaking service, and compliance with legal obligations. Where we process special category data (such as religious, racial or ethnic origin information) or biometric information, we rely on your explicit consent. You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, to receive your information in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time. You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority. Where personal information is transferred outside the EEA, UK or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent lawful mechanism.
15. California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA, gives you the right to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell personal information for money and do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not use sensitive personal information (as defined by the CCPA) for purposes beyond those permitted without additional consent. To exercise a California privacy right, contact the Privacy Officer at info@naseeb.love. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
16. Information About Other People
If you provide information about a wali, reference or another person, you must have an appropriate basis to provide the contact information to Naseeb and must not knowingly provide false or unauthorized information. Naseeb will provide appropriate notice to a reference when the reference is invited to submit information.
References are not required to become ordinary Naseeb users merely to submit a reference. Their information is used for the reference process and related follow-up, not for unrelated marketing unless separate consent is obtained.
17. Children
Naseeb is exclusively for persons aged 18 or older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from, or permit an account to be created by, a person under 18. If we learn that a person under 18 has submitted personal information or created an account, we will take appropriate steps to delete the account and associated personal information, subject to any legally required preservation.
18. Legal Disclosures and Corporate Transactions
We may disclose personal information where permitted or required by law, including to comply with a court order, warrant, subpoena or other lawful process; protect rights, safety or security; investigate fraud or serious abuse; establish, exercise or defend legal claims; or cooperate with lawful regulatory or law-enforcement requirements.
If BEL undergoes a proposed or completed financing, reorganization, merger, acquisition or sale of relevant business assets, personal information may be disclosed or transferred as permitted by applicable law and subject to appropriate confidentiality, privacy and security protections.
19. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect changes in Naseeb, our providers, technology, law or privacy practices. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice or obtain renewed consent where required by applicable law. Material changes will not be applied in a manner that unlawfully expands the use or disclosure of previously collected sensitive information.
