Frequently asked questions

Everything you might want to know about how Naseeb works — from profile review and matching to photos, membership and safety.

Getting started

No. There is no swiping, public browsing, or casual messaging. The platform is built exclusively around serious, marriage-focused introductions.

Profile reviews generally take 24–48 hours. We review the information you provide against your government-issued identification and conduct additional checks designed to confirm that profiles belong to real people.

Once your initial profile passes review, you will be notified that you can complete the remainder of your profile, including your matching preferences and deal-breakers.

While no verification process can eliminate every risk, Naseeb strives to maintain a community of genuine members who are serious about marriage.

There isn't any. Naseeb isn't built around endless photos or dopamine loops — you tell us who you are and what you're looking for, and we help identify people with whom there appears to be meaningful compatibility. The objective isn't more matches. It's better ones.

Naseeb is designed primarily around Muslim values and Islamic approaches to courtship and marriage. You don't have to be Muslim to create an account, but the platform doesn't change how it works based on your religion — there's no casual-dating mode, no swiping, and no expectation of flirting. Everyone here is seriously considering marriage, and all members are expected to respect the same standards of conduct.

Verification requirements, human-reviewed matchmaking, hidden photos by default, and a strict limit on monthly matches all work together to keep the environment serious and intentional.

No. You can complete it gradually — a progress indicator shows how much you've finished, and a live count shows how many people currently match your criteria. That number will shift as you keep answering, because we'd rather show you three genuinely promising people than three hundred you'd never marry.

Because compatibility is complicated. Two people can be the same age, live in the same city, and find each other attractive, and still be completely incompatible as spouses once religion, values, family, children, finances, and daily habits enter the picture. The questionnaire isn't judging your answers — it's looking for someone whose answers make sense alongside yours.

No. The questionnaire exists primarily to help Naseeb understand compatibility — not every answer becomes part of your visible profile, and sensitive information isn't displayed automatically just because it was used in matching. Your profile is meant to tell someone enough to consider a potential marriage, not expose your entire life to strangers.

Change it. People and circumstances change, and sometimes answering the questions is what reveals that something you thought was essential actually isn't. Your profile should reflect who you are and what you want now — answer honestly, since trying to give the "right" answer only helps us find the wrong person for you.

Matching

Once your profile is approved and completed, Naseeb will look for members who meet your preferences and compatibility criteria.

At launch, eligible members may receive up to three of their highest-ranking compatible matches per monthly matching cycle.

Matches depend on who is available and compatible with your preferences. If there are not enough suitable members at that time, we will not create matches simply to fill a quota.

As the Naseeb community grows, we plan to increase the matching frequency. For example, once the platform reaches sufficient membership, matching cycles may move from three matches per month to approximately three matches every two weeks.

No. A paid membership gives you access to Naseeb’s matchmaking service, but it does not guarantee that a compatible person will be available.

We would rather provide no match than an unsuitable match simply to meet a number.

Your preferences and deal-breakers can significantly affect the number of people who qualify. We encourage members to distinguish between genuine deal-breakers and preferences. The more unnecessarily restrictive your criteria are, the smaller your potential matching pool may become.

As the Naseeb community grows, the number and diversity of potential matches should also grow.

You may receive up to three curated matches per matching cycle. You will initially see selected profile information such as the person’s first name, age, general location, personal description, values, religiosity and other relevant compatibility information.

Their photos and identifying information remain private at this stage.

You have 24 hours to decide whether you are interested in pursuing an introduction.

If both people select each other, a match is created and the chat function becomes available.

If you do not select any of the matches within the 24-hour period, those matches return to the matching pool.

If you actively decline someone, that person will not normally be offered to you again.

You are never required to accept a match. You can decline all three and wait until your next matching cycle.

However, Naseeb encourages members not to make marriage decisions solely on first impressions. If someone meets many of your important values and criteria, you may want to give the introduction an opportunity before deciding that you are incompatible.

If you repeatedly decline all of your matches over an extended period, we recommend reviewing your preferences and deal-breakers to make sure they accurately reflect what is truly essential to you in a spouse.

The compatibility percentage reflects the degree of alignment between both members’ preferences, characteristics and profile information.

For example, if one person prefers someone who is physically active and the other person identifies as physically active, that contributes positively to compatibility. Differences in preferences relating to factors such as location, age, lifestyle, religiosity and other criteria may reduce the score.

Naseeb also analyzes profile information and written responses to help assess broader alignment between members.

As a general matchmaking guideline, Naseeb considers compatibility of approximately 60% or higher sufficient to potentially make a meaningful introduction.

The percentage is a matchmaking tool—not a prediction of whether two people will marry or whether a relationship will succeed. Ultimately, compatibility can only be determined by the two people getting to know one another.

Yes. You can edit your profile, preferences and deal-breakers at any time.

We strongly encourage members to distinguish between a preference and a genuine deal-breaker. Marking too many characteristics as deal-breakers can significantly reduce your potential matching pool.

Changes you make will be taken into account for future matching.

Members receive a limited number of carefully curated matches each month rather than an unlimited feed — quality and compatibility are prioritized over volume.

Our AI evaluates compatibility across values, goals, religious practice, lifestyle, and personality — every proposed match is then manually reviewed by our team before it's sent.

Before an introduction is made, a potential match can see your first name, age, location, occupation, your written description, a blurred photo, and your character references — enough to gauge compatibility without exposing your full profile or a clear photo.

It doesn't mean nobody is out there for you — it means no one currently on Naseeb meets the exact combination of criteria you've selected, and that changes as the community grows. It's also worth revisiting your answers: distinguish your true non-negotiables (faith, character, children, lifestyle) from preferences that may be excluding an otherwise excellent spouse.

Communication & photos

Communication becomes available after mutual interest.

If you select someone and that person also selects you, the match is created and the chat function opens.

Where a wali is associated with the woman’s account, the wali will also have access to the conversation in accordance with Naseeb’s wali framework.

Your photos are not automatically revealed when you match.

After mutual interest has been established, either member may request access to the other person’s photos. The person receiving the request decides whether to grant access.

This allows members to begin by considering values, compatibility and marriage expectations rather than making an initial decision primarily on appearance.

Either person can end a match at any time. No member is required to continue an introduction or conversation they no longer wish to pursue.

We encourage members to end conversations respectfully whenever possible—for example, by letting the other person know that they do not believe the match is compatible before ending it.

Once a match ends, both members return to the matching pool and may be considered for future matches.

No. Photos stay blurred by default. Once both sides of a proposed match express mutual interest, either person can request to view the other's clear photo — and it only unlocks with their approval.

Membership & verification

Naseeb is a professionally operated matchmaking service, and maintaining the platform, reviewing profiles, supporting members and implementing safety measures all involve significant costs.

There is also an intentional safety component to requiring payment. Completely free platforms can make it easier for people with dishonest intentions to create accounts and gain access to people genuinely seeking relationships. A membership fee creates an additional barrier to casual or potentially malicious use, although no measure can eliminate such risks entirely.

Naseeb’s objective is to build a community of people who are serious about marriage, while investing in verification, moderation, support and platform safety.

For these reasons, Naseeb does not currently offer a free membership or free trial.

Every member undergoes a basic identity review.

This includes comparing information provided during registration—such as name, date of birth and location—with government-issued identification. Submitted profile photographs are also compared with identification photographs, and we look for significant inconsistencies, heavy filtering or other indications that a profile may not accurately represent the person.

We may also use available technical information, such as location and IP-related information, as additional indicators during the review process.

These measures help us identify potential fake profiles, impersonation and catfishing, but no identity-verification system can guarantee that a person will never provide false information or attempt to circumvent safeguards.

Verification helps reduce fake accounts and improve trust and safety for members.

Yes. Members are required to provide at least two references.

References may come from people who know the member, such as a family member, friend, imam, colleague or employer.

We believe that what people who genuinely know you say about you can provide useful additional context beyond what you write about yourself. You can think of it somewhat like professional references—but designed for serious matchmaking.

Standard membership provides the complete core Naseeb matchmaking experience. Standard members receive the same matching opportunities and are not given fewer matches simply because they have chosen the Standard plan.

Verified membership adds enhanced verification for members who want an additional level of documented trust on their profile. Depending on the applicable verification process, this can include additional checks such as criminal-record documentation, employment references and verification of civil or marital status.

A Verified designation means that Naseeb has completed the applicable additional checks. It does not guarantee a person’s character, future conduct, compatibility or suitability as a spouse.

Concierge is Naseeb’s personalized matchmaking service for people who want a more individual approach.

Rather than relying primarily on the standard platform experience, Concierge clients receive direct personal attention from Naseeb’s matchmaking team, including an individual consultation and personalized review of potential matches.

It is particularly suited to people who prefer a more private, hands-on matchmaking experience or who do not necessarily want to participate in the platform in the same way as standard members.

Values & conduct

Yes. Family and wali integration is available as an optional part of the process for members who prefer a more traditional approach.

For Muslim women who involve a wali (marriage guardian), Naseeb is built so the wali can be part of the process from the start rather than introduced after a relationship has already formed. Where this feature applies, the wali is expected to have a presence on the platform and can be included throughout — other members are expected to respect that framework when interacting with someone who uses it.

It doesn't mean interviewing each other like a mortgage application — be yourself, laugh, ask questions, and get to know one another. But there's a difference between getting to know someone for marriage and building an intimate relationship before you've decided to marry them. Naseeb is designed to support the former.

Safety

If you experience behaviour that concerns you, contact info@naseeb.love. Our support team reviews reports seriously and confidentially and may ask you to provide screenshots or other relevant information so that the matter can be investigated.

For privacy reasons, Naseeb’s administrative and customer-support staff do not routinely have access to members’ private conversations. This is why screenshots or other evidence may be requested when investigating a report.

A future version of Naseeb is planned to include in-app message and member reporting so that concerning content can be reported directly from the platform.

Members may also end a match at any time. Where an investigation determines that a member has breached Naseeb’s applicable rules or Code of Conduct, action may be taken in accordance with Naseeb’s policies, including removal from the platform where appropriate.
